Our why
We are navigating multiple global crises all at once.
Climate change, ecosystem degradation, cost of living, housing, social polarisation, inequality to name a few.
At the core of these issues lies disconnection:
- Disconnection from nature
- Disconnection from ourselves
- Disconnection from each other
This disconnection has diminished our capacity to care for our environment, our well-being, and our communities humans. Through reconnection, we can begin to heal the damage and foster a thriving world.
Regen Places Network is dedicated to creating the conditions for a world where both nature and people work together to create more life. We work towards regeneration to restore our connection with the nature, ourselves, and our communities.
Our Mission
Our mission is to enable individuals and communities to integrate regeneration into their everyday lives through community-driven initiatives, and collaborative efforts. By 2030, we aim to develop 20,000 leaders, creating a network of convenors and communities across Australia and beyond.
Our approach
Regen Places Network adopts a bottom-up, systemic approach to building resilience and enabling regeneration.
Our focus is on collaborative, place-sourced transformation that prioritises:
- Walking together with First Nations
- Prioritising care for socio-ecological systems
- Developing the desire, capacity and capabilities to collaborate across differences
We harness two vital resources: the strong public desire for meaningful environmental action and place-sourced methods of societal organisation. Our initiatives enhance collaboration and leadership, resulting in improved decision-making and impactful actions for nature and biodiversity.
Our Vision
We envision a world where our communities and ecologies are deeply connected and can thrive, together. Through action research, capacity building, and developing community cohesion, we aim to enable regeneration across Country and Cultures. Our work encompasses three main areas:
- Innerwork – Empowering individual evolution
- Placework – Creating collaborative communities
- Ecosystem Work – Connecting and developing the field, and network of aligned actors
